Value-Added Courses for Engineering Colleges
MRL Tech Solutions delivers 45 and 60-hour value-added courses in AI, IoT, cyber security, full stack development and digital marketing at engineering colleges across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh. Students build working projects, not slide decks.
What is a value-added course and who delivers it?
A value-added course is a structured programme delivered alongside the regular curriculum, giving students skills the syllabus does not cover. MRL Tech Solutions Pvt Ltd delivers these as 45-hour or 60-hour programmes on the college campus, in the college's own lab.
The company was founded in 2019, is based in Urapakkam, Chennai, and has delivered more than 250 workshops and value-added courses at over 60 engineering colleges across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh.
Two ways to schedule the course
Block delivery
The whole course runs across a single week. Suits a semester break, a dedicated slot in the academic calendar, or a department that wants the programme finished in one go.
Weekly delivery
One session a week across the semester, alongside regular classes. Suits colleges that cannot free a full week, and gives students time to work on projects between sessions.
Both patterns cover the same content and carry the same certification.
Which subjects are offered?
| Domain | Topics covered |
|---|---|
| Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning | Python foundations, data handling with pandas, supervised and unsupervised learning, model training and evaluation, deep learning with CNNs, deployment basics |
| Generative AI & LLMs | How language models work, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, vector databases, building AI agents, evaluating model output |
| IoT & Embedded Systems | ESP32 and microcontroller programming, sensors and actuators, wireless connectivity, cloud dashboards, end-to-end IoT project builds |
| Cyber Security | Networking and Linux fundamentals, cryptography, ethical hacking and penetration testing, web application security (OWASP Top 10), digital forensics, incident response, secure coding |
| Full Stack Development | Java and web fundamentals, front-end development, back-end APIs, database design with SQL and MySQL, deployment |
| Digital Marketing | Search engine optimisation, Google Analytics 4 and Tag Manager, Search Console, paid advertising on Google and Meta, content strategy, campaign measurement and reporting |
Content is mapped to the department's requirements and the students' current level before the programme begins.
What students build
Every course is project-based. Students finish with working builds they can demonstrate in an interview, not notes from a lecture.
AI & Machine Learning
A trained image classifier, a prediction model built on a real dataset from cleaning through evaluation, and a deployed model accessible through a simple interface.
Generative AI
A RAG-based question-answering system over their own documents, a working AI agent that uses tools, and a prompt library for a chosen use case.
IoT & Embedded Systems
A sensor system on ESP32 reporting live data to a cloud dashboard, an automated control system responding to sensor thresholds, and a complete IoT project of their own design.
Cyber Security
A documented vulnerability assessment of a test web application, a hardened network configuration, and a written incident response report from a simulated breach.
Full Stack Development
A working web application with front-end, back-end API and database, deployed and accessible.
Digital Marketing
A fully optimised website with analytics and conversion tracking installed, a live campaign, and a performance report reading real data.
Each student leaves with two to three completed projects, their source code, and a certificate issued jointly by MRL Tech Solutions and the college.

Who runs the sessions?
Asborn T
16 years of experience in technical education. Delivers training in artificial intelligence, machine learning, generative AI, large language models, agentic AI and IoT for engineering students and corporate teams.
Ranjith Kumar V
B.E. Computer Science. 3 years at MRL Tech Solutions. Delivers training in full stack development with Java, robotics, Internet of Things, Python, web development and database management including SQL and MySQL.
Larger batches are supported by additional trainers from the MRL team, so students get hands-on help during lab sessions rather than waiting for a single trainer to reach them.

What does a value-added course cost?
Every programme is quoted individually, because the price moves with four things: duration, number of participants, scheduling pattern, and whether hardware kits are supplied.
Colleges in Chennai and nearby districts are quoted lower than outstation programmes, where travel and accommodation are added.
MRL Tech Solutions works within standard value-added course budgets and has delivered across 60+ colleges at a wide range of budgets. Colleges receive a written quotation after discussing their requirements.
